There are many reasons for adding calculator functionality to a website or CD-Rom. The example here is a virtual
version of a basic four function device, but a dedicated machine to do conversions or other calculations specific
to a particular product or service can be of real help to prospective purchasers within an e-commerce site or electronic brochure.
Instructions for Use
Use your mouse pointer to click on the calculator buttons. The 'C' button clears the last number entered, the 'AC' button
clears the accumulator. Clicking on the HowesComms logo will load another copy of this page in a new window - this demonstrates how a pop-up
message and a web link can be incorporated.
Technical
The file size for this calculator is about 32k. Flash can also be used to build a stand-alone software calculator
that runs from the computer desktop without being embedded in a web page. A useful and suitably branded device can
be an effective promotional item and at zero reproductive cost per item when downloaded from a website.
