Location

HowesComms is based in the southernmost tip of Northamptonshire in the UK. We are about 25 miles north of Oxford and about equidistant from London and Birmingham. Our location in the quiet village of Eydon provides us with pleasant surroundings and easy travel to a wide area of the country.

Our Philosophy

We believe you need quality tools to produce a quality job, but the skills to make good use of them are just as important.

We know that close liaison and a good working relationship with the client is the best way to ensure that they are happy with the end result.

Our Business Background

The HowesComms partners, Chris and Dave Howes, started their professional lives as a teacher and a BBC trainee. In 1983 they started a small part time business that soon grew to a full-time venture. Since then HowesComms has gained a wide range of experience in digital media and the internet.

Web Experience

HowesComms designed and built our first client's website in the summer of 1997 (for PW Publishing Ltd) and founded Town-Index later that year. Town-Index Limited gained major venture capital funding and expanded to over 40 staff located in Milton Keynes. Town-Index worked with a large range of clients, but specialised in the small and medium size business sector, helping to build a web presence for many companies plus a few charities and the odd multi-national.

Town-Index built a network of over 400 websites across the UK with many thousands of businesses featured in the classified directories and webpages. Content management systems, databases and other IT infrastructure were all part of this project. The HowesComms partners' involvement on a day-to-day basis with Town-Index ended in December 2000 and they returned to concentrate on HowesComms.

The HowesComms Team

The range of design and technical skills we can call on ranges from the artistic, to the hardcore technical stuff. If your project has any aspect that falls outside the breadth or depth of skills that we have 'in-house', we have excellent contacts and can bring extra resources to bear when needed.

Digital technology has brought about huge changes to the design and media industries and HowesComms has taken the opportunity to provide high quality web, video and multi-media content at a cost level that would have been inconceivable just a few years ago.
